There are many people out there with brilliant ideas but they seldom use ghostwriters to transform those ideas into a book.
This may be bacause they feel uncomfortable having someone to write for them , or they feel hiring a ghostwriter makes them less credible as the author of their own book.
Many clients I’ve written books for don’t always want the public to know that they hired me for that service.
Obviously, I get the point.
They are simply aligning to a misconception I am about to address in this blogpost.
Since many renowned authors in decades used to write their own books, public opinion has somewhat reduced all authors to writers.
Many seem to assume that authors should be the ones to tailor every sentence of their book.
But here is a claim I always make:
You do need to be a writer to be an author. What you need is an idea and a ghostwriter.

Writing is a skill much as building, crafting, designing, you name it.
If you don’t need to be a builder to own a house, you don’t need to be a writer to author a book.
For no reason should you feel ashamed to declare that you hired a professional writer to write your book for you.
Here are two reasons why:
You are the information bearer.
When you write a letter or a report on behalf of someone, it doesn’t make you the information bearer.
Likewise, having someone write a book for you does not give them the legal right to own the book.
Therefore, keep an eye on the clause that declares you as the rightful owner of your book before you sign a contract with any ghostwriter.
You are as competent as the writer, if not better.
Writing a book for someone does not mean you are smarter than that person.
Every professional is competent in their area of expertise.
As a ghostwriter, there are things I struggle with in the self-publishing domain–like designing cover pages.
So whenever I get to this stage of a book, I outsource it to a professional designer who would do a better job than me.
In life, you cannot go far if you do not work in collaboration with other experts.
Conclusion
A book is an idea and the bearer of the idea is the author of the book even if they did not write the book.
There is no reason to feel uncredited or less of an author because someone else wrote a book for you.
If you do not have the time or the skills to write your own book, outsource it to a ghostwriter .
Ghostwriting is a great opportunity to transform ideas into a book
